The Paul Bunyan Trail runs right through the Brainerd Lake Area. The 120-mile, paved trail is used by hikers, bikers, and explorers. Yellow Ribbon Forest, Crow Wing State Park, and the Hay Creek Trail offer many scenic trails.
The Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area is world-renowned for its excellent biking trails.
In the warmer months, Mount Ski Gull offers zip-lining, guided night hikes, and the annual Paul Bunyan Extreme Race. In the winter, it is a resort for snow skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and more.
The Greater Brainerd Area has long been a recreational hit due to its selection of year-round activities. A lake home or vacation rental in this area would be a significant investment.
