Largest of the Gull Lake Chain

Covering 9,418 acres, Gull Lake is the largest of the Gull Lake Chain of Lakes. Its 38-mile shoreline is well-developed but still stands tall with white pines, cedars, and balsam firs.

Upper Gull Lake, Nisswa Lake, Spring Lake, Love Lake, Round Lake, Bass Lake, Steamboat Bay, Wilson's Bay, Roy Lake, Margaret Lake, and Spider Lake make up the rest of the chain.

Boating, Fishing, Swimming, and More

Gull Lake's 15-mile stretch is for boating, water skiing, tubing, sailing, and more. Its pristine waters have also made it a top-notch swimming location. There are a choice of beaches where people swim, suntan, and relax all day.

It also boasts abundant largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, and panfish.

The lake is used for ice fishing, ice skating, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing in the winter. Public access is on the eastern shore of the lake off of Highway 371.

Around the Lake

In the summer, Mount Ski Gull hosts night hikes, ziplining, and the annual Paul Bunyan Extreme Race. During the winter, it turns into a resort for skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. It is on the western shore of the lake.

Several reputable golf courses are around the lake, like Pine Beach East & West, Legacy Courses at Cragun's, Madden's Golf Course, and The Pines Golf Course at Grand View Lodge.
