Ottertail County is home to 1,048 lakes, which is more than any other county in the United States. Between all the lakes, there are thousands of waterfront homes, lakeside cabins, and rentals.

Lakeside communities like Ottertail, Perham, Battle Lake, and Pelican Rapids provide families with schools, medical care, stores, restaurants, and more.

Ottertail Lake is the largest of the county, boasting nearly 14,000 acres of clean and clear waters. In the summer, the lake is a constant hub of activity.

West Battle Lake, Rush Lake, Dead Lake, and Big Pine each cover over 5,000 acres. Days on the lake include powerboating, jet skiing, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, and more.

Fergus Falls hosts the West Otter Tail Annual Fair. Each year the fair includes carnival rides, 4-H exhibits, a demolition derby, and more.
