Activities on the Water

Marion Lake spans 1,623 acres of clear water with two basins separated by a peninsula. The west basin has a maximum depth of 30 feet, while the east basin has a maximum depth of 62 feet.

Popular activities include swimming, boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and so much more. A public access point is on the southern side of the east basin.

Anglers can find black bullhead, bluegill, brown bullhead, green sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, pumpkinseed, rock bass, walleye, yellow bullhead, yellow perch, and more.

Several different biking/walking/hiking trails surround the lake, such as the Brave Like Gabe Recreational Trail, the Wellness Trail, and the Wildflower Trail. The trails range from different lengths and levels of difficulty to suit everyone.

There are several brewers and museums to explore in town, a farmers market, Waves of Discovery art experience, the Perham Trolley, and turtle races - a local favorite!
