Located in Wisconsin's Dodge County, Beaver Dam Lake is 40 miles northeast of Madison and 60 miles from Milwaukee.

16th Largest Wisconsin Lake

Created in 1842, Beaver Dam Lake was made to power a sawmill and a gristmill for the town locals. It was also named for its abundant beaver populations. With 39 miles of shoreline and more than 6,000 acres, Wisconsin's sixteenth-largest lake has plenty to offer.

Boating, Fishing, Swimming and More

Beaver Dam Lake is popular for its walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass and crappie fishing, as well as boating, swimming and camping in the summer.

In colder months, ice skating and ice fishing are popular lake activities enjoyed by Beaver Dam Lake locals.

Derge County Park, located on the west-central shore of the lake offers 25 campsites, and picnic tables with beautiful views of the lake. 

The popular Statz Ale House Grill and Pizza is a popular restaurant that offers live music and outdoor seating. Find Statz on the southeast point of Beaver Dam Lake.

Located in Dodge County and a short drive from the lake, Beaver Dam Country Club is there to serve all golfing needs.

Fireworks and Festivals

Beaver Dam Lake hosts many events for lake lovers of all ages, including the Lake Days Festival, which is held on the second weekend of July. This event features music, food and a spectacular fireworks show over the water. 

The Great Beaver Paddle Festival is held in early June. This all-day event has races, canoe and kayak clinics.

A local favorite, Dockside Restaurant, on the northwest point of the lake, provides live music, games, and reduced drink prices during their happy hour on the weekends.
