Created in 1842, Beaver Dam Lake was made to power a sawmill and a gristmill for the town locals. It was also named for its abundant beaver populations. With 39 miles of shoreline and more than 6,000 acres, Wisconsin's sixteenth-largest lake has plenty to offer.

A local favorite, Dockside Restaurant, on the northwest point of the lake, provides live music, games, and reduced drink prices during their happy hour on the weekends.
