The Presque Isle is just 10 additional miles south, boasting an international airport, great dining options, and exciting attractions.

Serene Waters

Cross Lake is accompanied by five other lakes, all connected by small waterways. Mud Lake sits to the north, and the larger waters of Square Lake are to the south.

Cross Lake features 14 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 46 feet for an average depth of 20 feet.

Boaters, anglers, swimmers, and kayakers alike enjoy the wooded scenery and quiet waters at Cross Lake. The lake’s abundant salmon and trout population are a year-round attraction for the anglers who make ice fishing a great challenge.

Aroostook State Park is less than 20 miles south of Caribou. Its 900 acres features miles of trails for hiking, biking, birdwatching, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and more. The park is located on Echo Lake, offering boat rentals, a swimming beach, and fishing areas.

An explorer would have fun walking, biking, or jogging the Aroostook Valley Trail that spans 28 miles across Caribou, Washburn, and Woodland.

If you are looking for snowy slopes, Quoggy Jo is a casual ski location just a few miles south of Caribou.
