Grand Portage Lake is located in Mercer, Wisconsin. Green Bay is 197 miles southeast, Duluth, Minnesota, is 131 miles northwest and Minneapolis is 221 miles southwest.

There are a few smaller airfields nearby, but the closest major airport is Duluth International Airport, which is, typically, just over two and a half hours away. Urgent care can be provided at Howard Young Medical Center, 39 minutes away.
