Good hiking trails just minutes from the lake include Northern Highland American Legion-Powell Trail, Miners Trail Miners Memorial Park, and North Trout Nature Trail. Miners is specifically a great place for “skiing, hiking, or just walking around.”

Five minutes from Lake Echo, you will find one of Wisconsin’s famous roadside attractions, the Claire d’Loon. Claire d’Loon is just a giant-sized loon bird that makes bird calls, popular for roadside pictures.

For fine dining, make reservations at the Blue Bayou Inn and try their cocktails and delicious seafood, or if you’re more laid back, grab a hot dog at Mad Dog Jake’s. Both are fairly close to Lake Echo and are local favorites.
