David Lake

Located in Oneida County, Wisconsin

Right in Vilas County, you can find this 24-acre-sized lake with a depth of 17 feet. David Lake is the perfect location for all ages, with plenty of activities and experiences that await you.

Both the 24-hour Howard Young Medical Center and the Marshfield Medical Center- Minocqua- are just a short ten miles from David Lake itself. The nearest main airport, Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport, is about 35 miles from the lake.

Life on the Water

Fishing for largemouth bass and panfish is very common at David Lake; however, there are many other water activities to participate in, like canoeing, kayaking, and swimming at the lake.

There are quite a few surrounding lakes just minutes away from David Lake, such as Sunday Lake, Lucy Lake, and Fence Lake. Kayaking is a local favorite at all of these lakes.

A tourist attraction you must check out just eleven miles from the lake is the Min-Aqua Bats shows. It’s a free two-hour water skiing show with synchronized events and insane stunts. Buy a hotdog and popcorn at the snack shack and enjoy the show on the water.

Other must-see tourist attractions include the Hodag, Northwoods, and Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo and Safari. The Hodag is old scrap steel made into sculptures and is a neat place to check out for not just families but artists. Northwoods offers all the outdoor activities like zip-lining, ATVs, and kayaking adventure tours- perfect family fun.

Lastly, the Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo and Safari is a place you’ll never want to leave as you can hand feed the animals there…imagine feeding a Giraffe.

For southern comfort food, try out Bad Bones BBQ right by the lake, and for fast-food burgers and ice cream, make sure to check out the famous Culver’s if you haven’t already.

Locals love Little Brown Jug and Happy’s for drinks, just minutes away from the lake. Close-knit bars with friendly staff, sports always on, and an all-around chill vibe. If you’re willing to go for a drive, about 50 miles from the lake, there’s Brigadoon Winery and Three Lakes Winery. Both wineries have breathtaking scenery and a great selection.
