Visit Marquette

Located only 18 miles from Deer Lake, Marquette is listed among the 10 best places to retire in the United States by CBS MoneyWatch. The Marquette Harbor Lighthouse is the oldest large structure in the city and a historic navigation beacon on Lake Superior. It was critical to the development of the Great Lakes iron ore trade. The DeVos Art Museum is part of the School of Art and Design at Northern Michigan University. The museum is free to the public and has a permanent collection of over 1,500 items. Presque Isle Park is a 323-acre forested peninsula that extends into the waters of Lake Superior. It's a beautiful spot for hiking, nature watching, biking, sunset views, and relaxation.
