About Three Lakes

Snohomish County, Washington

Three Lakes is an area just east of Seattle that provides a semi-rural feel. It includes, as its name suggests, a chain of three lakes: Panther Lake, Flowing Lake, and Storm Lake. Each is in the same vicinity.

The lakes are located near the city of Snohomish and are 30 minutes away from Everett, Washington.

The three lakes are all less than 30 minutes away from Fairfax Hospital and an hour away from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The region is known for its top-rated public schools.

Panther Lake

Panther Lake, the smallest of the chain, covers 49 acres and is stocked with rainbow trout. It also has largemouth bass, pumpkinseed sunfish, black crappie, and brown bullhead catfish.

Storm Lake

Storm Lake covers 76 acres and is open to fishing from April through October 31. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and cutthroat trout.

Flowing Lake

Neither Panther nor Storm Lake allows for motorized boating. However, Flowing Lake, by far the largest of the three, does. Flowing Lake is 132 acres and is one of the few areas in the region that allows for motorized watercraft.

On the north side of Flowing Lake is the Country Park and Campground, also known as Leckie’s Beach. The park is a popular place to go for lake-side activities and includes an amphitheater, a nature trail, a boat launch, cabins, campsites, picnic tables, a playground, restrooms, a fishing dock, and a wading area. There is another boat access on the south side of the lake.

Flowing Lake is stocked with rainbow trout. It also is home to largemouth bass, yellow perch, and brown bullhead catfish.

Other Activities

Serious anglers can travel a short distance to the Snohomish River, which provides some of the best salmon fishing in the state and is a popular fishing spot during the fall salmon season.

The lakes are very close to Snohomish Golf Course, a highly rated public golf course that is in great condition. Golfers can play 18 holes for $38 on weekdays and $45 on weekends and they offer many discounts as well as cart rentals.

The Snohomish Area

East of Three Lakes is the town of Snohomish, which is renowned for its Kla Ha Ya Days summer festival, which began in 1913. Kla Ha Ya means “welcome,” and the festival operates as a fundraiser for the Snohomish community. It generally includes a carnival, kids fair, parade, circus, music, and street fair.

Snohomish is also home to many popular dining locations. The Maltby Cafe is an award-winning restaurant famous for its giant cinnamon rolls. The Snohomish Pie Company serves high-quality pies using local fresh ingredients.

A Thriving Region With So Much To Do

Three Lakes is a place for anyone who wants a traditional lake experience and enjoys strong local traditions. Whether you’re a fisherman, golfer, or socialite, Three Lakes may be the location of your next lake home!
