Pony Lake

Quaint and Quiet, but Close to the Excitement

Pony Lake is a small fishing hole located just outside Puyallup, Washington. The lake is located 22 miles from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and just over three miles from the MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital. The Puyallup area offers full K-12 public and private education options.

Don’t let this lake’s size fool you! Small and largemouth bass, crappie, walleye, trout, striped bass, catfish, and spotted bass have all been reported in Pony Lake. Any angler seeking a laid-back cast is sure to love Pony Lake.

The nearby Puyallup River is also home to several species of salmon including king, coho, chinook, and pink salmon from August 1st to December 31st. Anglers can catch up to six a day with an additional two pink salmon. Chinook salmon, wild steelhead, rainbow trout, cutthroat, and bull trout can all also be found but must be released after being caught.

Wildwood Park is five miles from Pony Lake. This verdant forested space features baseball and softball fields, picnic shelters, exercise and walking trails, and a playground for residents seeking a breath of fresh air.
