Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake is the largest lake and reservoir in Washington, by surface area. The reservoir lies in parts of five counties in northeastern Washington, including Ferry, Stevens, Lincoln, Okanogan, and Grant counties.

The area is just under two hours away from the Grand Coulee Airport. Equidistant from the reservoir is the Coulee Medical Center as well as the Ferry County Memorial Hospital, sitting at one hour and 45 minutes apiece.

The coffee at Inchelium Community Market comes highly recommended and is the closest grocery store option at around half an hour away.

The most notable restaurant is Fruitland Valley Vineyard and Winery. This family-owned vineyard appeals to sommeliers and casuals alike.

Beaches Galore

Despite being a massive reservoir, the 126 square miles of water do not distract from Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake's inherent charm. With tons of shoreline, private beaches run rampant.

Fishing Opportunities

Seasonal fishing is incredibly popular in Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake. In the spring, look for trout, kokanee, and burbot. Smallmouth and walleye make an appearance in the summer but come September, it goes back to trout fishing.

Entertainment Options

Visitors and residents should be sure to visit Fort Spokane, just around an hour and a half away. The beautifully preserved former military fort later became an Indian school, and now is a museum with preserved remnants from the Indian Frontier.

Explore Nature

There is a huge collection of animals living on or near Franklin D. Roosevelt Lake. These include but are not limited to black bears, elk, mountain lions, whitetail deer, mule deer, and moose. Bald eagles and redtail hawks also frequent the area.
