Cottage Lake

Woodinville, Washington

Cottage Lake is a 63-acre lake in northern King County, Washington, just east of the city of Woodinville.

The lake is half an hour away from EvergreenHealth Monroe Medical Center in Monroe, Washington, and a mere 45 minutes away from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Cottage Lake is also right down the road from Bear Creek Elementary School.

Wine Country

Woodinville is at the heart of the Washington wine country and is home to over 130 wineries. Renowned Woodinville restaurant, the Barking Frog, offers an award-winning wine cellar and top-rated seasonal menus. It’s also located less than 15 minutes from the lake.

Outdoor Opportunities

Cottage Lake Park, on the east side of the lake, is a fun place for numerous like-side activities. The park includes lake access for boating and fishing, walking trails, picnic tables, barbeques, and restrooms.

The pool and high ropes course are both run by the Northshore YMCA. The YMCA also runs summer camps at the park.

The park is also the home of the annual “Music in the Park” summer community concerts. The concerts feature performers from different genres and are sponsored by the Upper Bear Creek Community Council.

South of the park is the Cottage Lake Gardens, a private botanical garden, plant nursery, and bed and breakfast. The garden includes one of the world’s most extensive collections of endangered trilliums.

Residents of the Cottage Lake Beach Club neighborhood, on the southwest side of Cottage Lake, have access to a private lake-side park.

Fishing Spot

Cottage Lake is also an attractive home for fishermen. Stocked with rainbow trout and native coastal cutthroat trout, anglers can expect to have the most success before warmer temperatures drive trout into colder areas.
