Long Lake, also known as Lake Spokane, is a 24-mile long reservoir on the northwestern edge of Spokane.

Located just 10-20 miles from the city center, it is a convenient place for families and vacationers alike. Spokane includes many restaurants and shops along with St. Luke's Hospital and Spokane International Airport.

Picturesque Waters

Clear waters, wooded hillsides, and blue skies make up the picture-perfect landscapes at Lake Spokane. The reservoir spans 5,020 acres with 54 miles of shoreline. Its dam was completed on the Spokane River in 1915.

It is 50 feet deep on average with a maximum depth of 180 feet. With multiple public access points, the lake is easily accessible for boating and fishing.

Year-Round Recreation

All sorts of water activities are performed on Lake Spokane. The long stretch is perfect for sail boating, water skiing, kayaking, and other watersports.

It is an excellent fishing location, boasting healthy populations of yellow perch, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, black crappie, and rainbow trout.

Fisk State Park is home to “The Cove,” a popular location for swimming and cliff diving. Riverside State Park features trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding that can also be used for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and dog-sledding.

The Riverside State Park Offroading Area is open to vehicles of all kinds. It includes hills, trails, and open areas across 600 acres.
