Wapato Lake is part of Tacoma, a neighboring city of Seattle that offers the same upbeat, urban lifestyle at more affordable prices.

An Escape Within Tacoma

Surrounded by the dense forests of Wapato Park, the lake is a natural oasis within the city of Tacoma. The serene waters are decorated with lily pads and commonly home to geese, ducks, and other waterfowl.

The park’s mile-long trail around the water features a historic pergola, dating back to 1938, along with several display gardens.

The Wapato dog park is a fully-fenced area where dogs can run around leash-free. When it comes time for a break there are plenty of benches around the park.

Tacoma is home to several fun attractions, including Wild Waves Theme and Waterpark, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Museum of Glass, The Children’s Museum of Tacoma, and the Tacoma Art Museum.

The lake is less than 100 miles from Mt Rainier National Park and Olympic National Park.
