Jackson Lake

Located on the Washington Islands

Nestled on the narrow island between Case Inlet and Carr Inlet, Jackson Lake is a peaceful water body surrounded by lush Washington forest. It encompasses 16 surface acres and has a maximum depth of only 30 feet. Jackson Lake rests in Pierce County and is open to the public.

If you want to leave the peace of Jackson Lake, you can drive 40 minutes east to the busier city of Tacoma, Washington. Seattle is not much further away, with the drive taking about 60 minutes depending on your route.

Enjoying the Lake

There are plenty of fish species for anglers to wrangle in Jackson Lake, including largemouth bass, crappie, and bluegill.

In addition to private lake lots, public access is provided by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. The public access area offers lots of parking spaces, a public restroom, and a gravel boat launching area.

You can also zoom on over to the LeMay--America's Car Museum. This four-level, 165,000-sq.-ft. the facility features 12 rotating exhibits for car enthusiasts to enjoy.
