Hintzville Beaver Ponds are on Washington’s peninsula near the Hood Canal. They are in Kitsap County, just eleven minutes away from Navy Yard.

Hintzville Beaver Ponds are conveniently located under two hours from the famous city of Seattle. Similarly, you can drive to Washington’s capital, Olympia, in approximately 90 minutes.

Near Hintzville Beaver Ponds is the vast Olympic National Park and Olympic National Forest. The park encompasses nearly a million acres and protects a vast wilderness, thousands of years of human history, and several distinctly different ecosystems. You can explore over 70 miles of wild coastline, glacier-capped mountains, and old-growth rainforests. Boating, fishing, tide pooling, camping, hiking, backpacking, wildlife viewing, winter activities, and night sky programs are all enjoyed in the park.

Mt. Rainier National Park is also reasonably close to the southeast.

Boat on the Coast

While Hintzville Beaver Ponds cannot be used for motorboating, you are free to ride along the Puget Sound inlet and into the Pacific Ocean. Fishing is also popular in the inlet! You can find chinook, coho, pink, chum and sockeye salmon, sea-run cutthroat trout, steelhead, green sturgeon, Pacific halibut, cabezon, and lingcod.
