Harts Lake is positioned perfectly so that it is an hour away from both Olympia and Seattle.

Travelers also have the option to fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport or Olympia Regional Airport, with Olympia being a shorter drive by about 15 minutes. Urgent care can be found at St. Peter’s Hospital less than 25 miles away.

This lake is generally stocked with thousands of rainbow trout each season by the Washington Fishing and Wildlife Department. There’s no shortage of bass and panfish but keep an eye out for jumbo trout that sometimes appear in the Fall. Yellow perch, black crappie, bluegill, and pumpkinseed sunfish, and bullhead catfish have also been caught here.

The Northwest Trek Wildlife Park should be visited for those who need to get their wildlife viewing fix. Deer, goats, moose, elk, bison, grizzlies, wolves, and bald eagles can be found here. It's incredibly family-friendly and if you go on the tram tour, expect to spend about three hours here.
