Washington
Green Lake real estate is regarded as a beautiful, but less active, market in Washington for lake homes and lake lots.
Typically, buyers can find around 20 Green Lake homes for sale, and very few Green Lake lots and land for sale.
Green Lake is one of Washington's largest lakes.
Green Lake is a medium-sized lake located just to the north of Seattle. Due to its close vicinity to Washington's largest city, the lake area has plenty of venues and amenities. The lake is located between larger water bodies, with Lake Washington a short drive to the east and Shilshole Bay, a short drive to the west.
Green Lake, being so close to Seattle, is also close to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is a 20-minute drive away. Houses with lakefront views and lake access are available on all sides of Green Lake.
Green Lake is in a prime location for those looking to stay busy while at the lake. The residents of the lake hardly have to leave Seattle to reach it. This means that all of Seattle's venues and attractions are still within arm's length.
Its location provides a series of unique attractions. For example, the Woodland Park Zoo is directly southwest of the lake. This zoo offers the chance to view a vast number of animal species in a controlled environment. They also have special events such as the Summer Safari and Brew with the Zoo.
The University of Washington, the flagship university for the state, is also a short drive south of the lake in Seattle.
The university itself offers guests unique opportunities, such as a trip to the Washington Park Aboratorium UW Botanical Gardens. This attraction is run by the university and the city of Seattle and offers various plants that cannot be found anywhere else in the northwest. The park is 230 acres in size and features a Japanese garden as well.
A series of other parks can be found in the area as well. Close to the lake are parks such as Golden Gardens Park, Discovery Park, and Warren G. Magnuson Park.
Famous tourist attractions, such as the Space Needle, are a short drive away from Green Lake as well.
Green Lake is wealthy in chances to get involved outside of the lakehouse. Whether fishing on the lake, exploring larger bodies of water, visiting Seattle, or going to parks, there is something to do for everyone who visits the lake. While the lake is not very secluded, the vast number of recreational activities make up for it.
