Chambers Lake is a mid-sized Washington lake.
Chambers Lake is a shallow lake in Washington’s state capital, Olympia. Technically, Chambers Lake is two smaller lakes, connected by a non-navigable canal.
The lake is a little over an hour away from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and around 10 minutes away from Providence St. Peter Hospital.
South Sound Shopping Center is just north of Chambers Lake which has a Target and Kohl’s.
Chambers Lake has decent fishing for naturally reproducing largemouth bass, yellow perch, brown bullhead catfish, and stocked channel catfish. The lake can be accessed by the Washington Department of Fishing and Wildlife boat launch. Internal combustion engines are prohibited.
Salt-water fishermen would also be close to the Budd Inlet, the southernmost arm of the Puget Sound.
The 22-mile Chehalis-Western Trail, which runs from Woodard Bay to Vail, cuts through the two Chambers Lakes. The multi-use trail, frequented by walkers, dogs, and cyclists, used to be the Chehalis Western Railroad but was converted into the trail in the 1980s.
If you’re looking for a simple lake with a quality walking trail, Chambers Lake may be the ideal location for your next lake home!
