Case Pond

Pacific County, Washington

Case Pond is a quaint freshwater lake near Raymond, Washington. It is 2.3 acres with good shoreline access. Olympia is a little over an hour away, Tacoma is around two hours away, and Seattle is a little over two hours away.

The lake is 10 minutes from Willapa Harbor Hospital Campus and around two hours from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Good for fishing, the Case Pond is stocked with rainbow and steelhead trout.

Across the street from Case Pond is the Willapa River, a 20-mile river on the Pacific Coast popular for fishing for chinook salmon, coho salmon, and steelhead trout.

The Willapa River feeds into the Willapa Bay, which is around 20 minutes from Case Pond. Willapa Bay is the second-largest estuary on the United States Pacific coast and is renowned for its biodiversity.

The Bone River Natural Area Preserve rests on the shore of the Willapa Bay. It is a 2,800-acre preserve with salt marshes, tideflats, sloughs, freshwater streams, wetlands, and conifer forests.

After a long day outside, venture indoors for some fine craft beer. Once a haven for rowdy backcountry loggers, The Pitchwood Inn and Alehouse is now an award-winning restaurant and claims to have the best burger in southwest Washington.

Alternatively, the Willapa Brewing Company is a family-owned microbrewery near the Willapa River. The brewery is known just as much for their pineapple pizza as for their beer.
