Lake Burnt Mills is a gorgeous reservoir in the wooded region of Suffolk, Virginia. It is approximately 10 miles from downtown, where there is a great collection of restaurants and shops.

Sentara Obici Hospital is also located in Suffolk, and the Norfolk International Airport is approximately 30 miles away.

A Forested Beauty of 711 Acres

Lake Burnt Mills spans 711 acres with many bends and small branches. It has 36 miles of shoreline, dense with foliage.

A boating permit is required to boat, canoe, or kayak on the reservoir. No bank fishing is allowed unless on private property.

Residents almost always have the peaceful waters all to themselves. It is known to be an excellent source of largemouth bass.

A Day Out

Virginia Beach is approximately 45 miles from Lake Burnt Mills. It is the perfect place for a walk on the beach, dine at seafood restaurants, or play a round of mini-golf.

Portsmouth and Norfolk are closer by and boast a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Their shopping ranges from upscale department stores to personal boutiques.

The Elizabeth Manor Golf & Country Club, Bide-A-Wee Golf Course, and Suffolk Golf Course make excellent golfing locations.
