The gated community of Lake Monticello privately owns the 352-acre lake. This human-made lake with 22 miles of shoreline has beautiful waters that come from over 200 freshwater streams.

Water activities like boating, water skiing, and fishing are always happening at Lake Monticello. The marina provides docks and a concrete launching area to make boating easy for the lake goers.

 

The five beaches of the lake are great hangout spots that include public restrooms, boat docks, canoe/kayak racks, picnic tables, and grills.

 

Another place to cool off is the community pool with an open swimming area, swimming lanes, and a shallow area with a splash fountain.

 

Golfers enjoy the community’s semi-private 18-hole 72 par golf course that suits every skill level.

 

A Community that Likes to Celebrate

At Lake Monticello, July 4th includes plenty of activities. These include a 5K run, Swim Across the Lake Competition, Sand Sculpture Contest, Putt-Putt Tournament, a boat parade, and a firework show.

 

Memorial Day and Labor Day also have grand celebrations that involve boat parades and more. Other events throughout the year are the Easter Egg Hunt, Santa Comes to the Lake, Octoberfest, and Earth Day.
