With Sabine Lake’s location next to Port Arthur, it crosses the border between Texas and Louisiana and offers visitors and residents fine cuisine and excellent fishing.

Beaumont is around 45 minutes away, and Houston is around two and a half away. Both options are great for a day trip of activities.

There are a few smaller airfields nearby, but the closest major airport is William P. Hobby Airport, under a two-hour drive away. Emergency care can be found at Mid Jefferson Extended Hospital around 17 miles away.

At 90,000 acres this saltwater estuary has no shortage of lake fun. The lake is around 14 miles long and is seven miles wide, perfect for all kinds of activities.

Sabine Lake is a great fishing spot. There is a wide variety of fish caught in and around Sabine Lake which includes Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder. Ling and Tripletail can also be caught around the nearshore gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.

Entertainment Options

Nearby Pleasure Island offers an additional spot to fish as well as play disc golf. The Museum of the Gulf Coast is a 39,000 square-foot museum offering many diverse exhibits, a great option for all ages.

Sea Rim State Park offers kayakers of all skills a good time. With 4,000 acres of marshland, beautiful wildlife runs free here.
