Moss Lake real estate is a limited supply market for lake homes and land in Texas.
There are typically very few lake lots and land listings available.
Also called Hubert M. Moss Lake, this lake is a mid-sized Texas lake. The closest major airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, is 67 miles away.
Located in Cooke County, Texas just 60 miles north of Dallas and 12 miles northwest of Gainesville sits Hubert M. Moss Lake, or more commonly known as Moss Lake.
Moss Lake was named in memory of Hubert M. Moss. Moss was a local superintendent and outdoorsman who lead the movement for a city lake. Before he was superintendent, he was a chemistry teacher at Gainesville High School and Junior College. Construction of the Fish Creek Dam completed Moss Lake in 1966.
Fishing and boating are among the most popular activities at Moss Lake. The lake covers 380 acres and contains a number of species of fish including: black bass, small-mouth bass, channel catfish, and red-ears. There are two boat ramps and a public use area that are run by the city of Gainesville.
If you are looking for a small lake with scenic views and plenty of fishing opportunity, Moss Lake is the place for you!
