Lake Abilene is a 595-acre lake in the Abilene State Park, located just 30 minutes from downtown Abilene, Texas. The lake is around 30 minutes away from both Hendrick Medical Center-South and the Abilene Regional Airport.

Fun On and Off the Water

The park has a $5 daily entrance fee and includes a historic swimming pool built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, camping options, and hiking trails. Visitors can participate in various activities including geocaching, bird watching, boating, fishing, and swimming.

Only canoes and kayaks are allowed on the lake. Predominant fish include largemouth bass, channel catfish, and white crappie.
