About Lake Texoma

Located on the Oklahoma-Texas Border

Lake Texoma is a recreational treasure on the border of Oklahoma and Texas. Sparkling waters, green shores, and limitless recreation have brought millions of visitors to Lake Texoma since its opening in 1944.

The Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is under 105 miles away, and the Texoma Medical Center is around 20 miles away for convenient travel and medical care.

Dallas is just 100 miles south of the lake, or you can travel 150 miles north to Oklahoma City. Both cities promise food, fun, and entertainment.

A Clearwater Jewel

When the Texoma Dam was constructed in 1944, it was the largest earth-filled dam. Now it is the twelfth largest in the states. The waters span a massive 89,000 acres with 580 miles of shoreline.

Its wide-open stretches are perfect for boating, water skiing, and other watersports, while there are tons of coves to slip off to for swimming or fishing.

There are multiple beaches and islands to choose from around the lake. A collection of them has rock cliffs nearby where daredevils can dive.

The lake is known for its healthy catfish and largemouth bass, but anglers can reel in a variety of gamefish from the waters.

Parks, Campgrounds, and Marinas

Lake Texoma offers rentals for boats, houseboats, bicycles, and campsites. It welcomes horseback riding, biking, and other recreational activities.

Eisenhower State Park features multiple rocky bluffs and hiking trails that will take you out to them. Bring your ATV or dirt bike to explore the Lake Texoma backwoods.

Lake Texoma Marina, Highport Marina, Cedar Bayou Marina, Albert Creek Resort & Marina, and Grandpappy Marina are located on the lake.

Day’s End Fun

The Point, The Island, Pelican’s Landing, and Anchor N Restaurant are places where you can dine right on the water.

The Lake Texoma Casino, Choctaw Casino, and Megastar Casino are a short drive from the lake.

Laid-Back Lake Living

Lake Texoma is a gorgeous location for a lake home that boasts a variety of activities on and off the water.
