About Lake Palestine

The Road Less Traveled

Eastern Texas has a jewel in its crown, Lake Palestine. Just a few short miles from the city of Tyler, this lake is tucked away enough to not be crowded and still manages to provide a host of convenient amenities.

Tyler Pounds Regional Airport services flights to all of the major hubs, such as Dallas, Houston, and Austin, which means international flight is a quick hop-skip away.

Over 25,000 Acres of Surface Water

Formed by the earth filled Blackburn Crossing Dam, Lake Palestine was impounded in 1962.

The dam and lake underwent an enlargement project in 1969 that was completed in 1972, resulting in the clean and clear reservoir of today. With 135 miles of shoreline, there's plenty of space for all of the fun.

Tournaments, Festivals, and Recreation

The Media Bass Individual Tournament is a local favorite and even sponsors a Little League class entry for young anglers. Jet skiing, boating, and swimming couldn't be more perfect on the calm waters of Lake Palestine.

For drier amenities, try a visit to the one of the three gorgeous local golf courses, or perhaps a quick trip to the Texas State Railroad Historical Park.

Mild Winters Mean More Fun Year Round

Eastern Texas features a mild winter climate, making Lake Palestine a popular spot almost year round. This also means more time to use the campgrounds on the water.

Lake Living at Its Finest

Whether vacationing or choosing the perfect spot to settle in, Lake Palestine has a place for you. Family friendly amenities and peaceful living are here at the lake!
