Lake Fork Reservoir is located between the towns of Quitman, Alba, Emory, and Yantis, Texas. The area is just under two hours from Dallas and offers great fishing and lots of activities.

Emergency care can be found at UT Health Quitman about a 20-minute drive from the lake. While Lake Fork Reservoir is surrounded by several small airports, the closest major airport is Dallas Love Field, which is about 90 miles away.

Anglers can hope to catch largemouth bass, white bass, white crappie, black crappie, channel catfish, flathead catfish, blue catfish, bowfin, and sunfish. This area holds 15 of the top 20 Texas State Record Largemouth Bass ever caught, which makes it one of the premier trophy bass fishing lakes.

You can find great campgrounds nearby with great amenities like a pool and Wi-Fi. You can also park your RV on the grounds overnight or pay for a month at a time, and also benefit from the awesome perks.

Nature-lovers won't want to miss the East Texas Zoo and Gator Park, where guests can see various alligators, primates, exotic cats, monkeys, smaller reptiles, farm animals, and more.

Take some time to go to the Grand Saline Salt Palace, the only building in the world made of pure rock salt. Visitors can learn about the history of salt discovery and production in the area, as well as view exhibits about famous local people.
