Tugaloo Lake

Location and Access

Tugaloo Lake straddles the state line between Georgia and South Carolina.

This 597-acre reservoir is located in Habersham and Rabun counties in northeastern Georgia and also runs through Oconee County, South Carolina.

The lake is open to the public all year to enjoy outdoor recreational and watersport activities.

On and Around the Water

During the summer, Tugaloo lake is a popular destination for swimming, water skiing, sailing, and boating. There is also a six-lane ramp used for large fishing tournaments and easy access to the lake.

The lake area is also great for fishing! The most popular fish species caught here are largemouth and smallmouth bass, trout, walleye, white and black crappie, white catfish, and bream.

Hospital and Airport

There are three different hospitals in the area. The Stephens County Hospital, Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital, and the MLMC hospital are located just under an hour away.

The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is located an hour and 45 minutes from Tugaloo Lake.
