McConnell Lake is a 100-acre lake located in Blooming Grove Township (Pike County), Pennsylvania. Scranton is 40 miles west, Philadelphia is 143 miles south, and New York City is 82 miles southeast.

The closest location for emergency care is Wayne Memorial Hospital, 25 miles northwest in Honesdale. The Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport is 46 miles west in Avoca.

Life on the Water

This lake is one of four lakes in the Hemlock Farms Community and is the largest non-motorized boating lake within the community. There are plenty of activities at your disposal, like kayaking, electric boating, paddleboarding, or fishing. Anglers can expect to catch chain pickerel, largemouth bass, bluegill, and yellow perch.

What's There to Do Around the Lake?

Less than 30 miles northwest of the lake is Claws ‘N’ Paws Wild Animal Park. Come see their petting zoo, an area to pet and take pictures with African tortoises, and giraffe feedings with Jethro the Giraffe.

If you're looking to set up some time on the links, then you're in luck, as the Lords Valley Country Club is less than four miles away from the lake. This 18-hole, 6,000+ yard green offers a challenging golf course with beautiful surroundings. To gain membership, you must be sponsored by two current members and complete their membership process.

Surrounding McConnell Lake is the 83,519-acre Delaware State Forest. Fans of the outdoors will be ecstatic to know that activities like hiking, mountain biking, boating, hunting, horseback riding, and more are in their backyard!
