Conneaut Lake is a 951-acre lake located in its own borough, Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. Conneaut is the largest natural lake in the state of Pennsylvania! The lake was created 12,000 years ago when a glacial ice sheet, believed to be as large as a mile thick, was melted.

The closest major airport is Erie International, 54 minutes north in Eerie, Pennsylvania. Urgent care can be provided at Meadville Medical Center, 19 minutes east in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is an hour and a half drive south.

Groceries and snacks can be found within walking distance at Zatsick’s Golden Dawn. There are many places around Conneaut Lake for residents to grab a bite to eat, like Toni’s Lake Diner, Silver Shores Restaurant, Miller’s Food Factory, and Pizza Joe’s.

A Vacation Destination

Since the lake does not have a horsepower limit, Conneaut is a popular destination for water sports like jet skiing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, boating. There are two public boating ramps on the north and south shores.

Anglers can expect to find largemouth bass, bowfin, northern pike, smallmouth bass, rock bass, yellow perch, bluegill, and pumpkinseed.

There are also two beaches residents can enjoy on a sunny day. One is just off of North Second Street, and the other is in Conneaut Lake Park.

Conneaut Lake Park

Conneaut Lake features an amusement park, one of the oldest in the U.S., that offers all the amenities one could ever hope for! There is a waterpark, complete with a slide, a lazy river, and even a place for toddlers.

The park also offers dry rides, mini-golf, a bar, and even a boardwalk that leads to a beach!

Visit Pittsburgh

Conneaut is only an hour and a half from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The City of Bridges has a lot to offer visitors. The top attraction here is the Duquesne Incline. An ode to Pittsburgh's Industrial Age, before cars, inclines were the best way to traverse up and down mountains.

Today, Duquesne Incline is one of two remaining inclines offering scenic views of the skyscrapers of Pittsburgh.

The Phipps Conservatory frequently puts on seasonal flower shows as well as offers beautiful flowers year-round. Point State Park is a protected area in the heart of Pittsburgh, near the three intersecting rivers (the Allegheny, the Monongahela, and the Ohio River).

Critically acclaimed artist Andy Warhol grew up here, and the Warhol Museum features many exhibits of his work.
