The Beltzville Lake real estate market is a beautiful, but less active, marketplace for lake property in Pennsylvania.
Normally there are very few lake homes for sale at Beltzville Lake, and very few listings for lots and land.
Beltzville Lake is one of Pennsylvania's largest lakes and has 20 miles of shoreline. The closest major airport, Lehigh Valley International Airport, is only 31 miles away.
Beltzville Lake is in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, under 30 miles from Allentown and under 65 miles from the Scranton--Wilkes-Barre area.
The Lehigh Valley International Airport is under 35 miles away, and the St. Luke's Hospital - Lehighton Campus is under 10 miles away.
Beltzville Lake spans 950 acres, leaving plenty of room for relaxation and recreation. It rests in the beautiful 3000-acre Beltzville State Park to enhance the lake life experience.
Recreational boating is extremely popular here. Most types of recreational boats are permitted, and the speed limit tops out at 45 miles per hour.
Several coves and other areas are restricted to "no-wake speed" for kayaking and canoeing. Boat rentals are available seasonally, including paddleboats, canoes, rowboats, pontoons, and motorboats.
On the south shore is a two-lane boat launch ramp and parking at Preacher's Camp launching area. Seasonal mooring for canoes is available here also.
On the north side are a public access boat launch, swimming areas, picnicking areas, restrooms, concession stand, first aid station, park office, and interpretive center.
Fishing is another popular option on the water. The lake is full of striped bass, largemouth and smallmouth bass, trout, walleye, perch, and muskellunge.
The lake features a sandy 525-foot beach with lifeguards on duty seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Showers and first aid are available near the beach, and refreshments are sold during the summer season.
Besides the lake activities, Beltzville State Park boasts 15 miles of hiking trails. Following old roads, wooded paths, and stream banks, hikers can stumble upon gristmills, small ponds, wetlands, and even an abandoned quarry.
Adventures off the water are always in season around the dense forests of Beltzville State Park. Hunting is permitted in over 1,707 acres of the park. Common game species are deer, rabbit, pheasant, ruffed goose, and waterfowl.
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Pennsylvania Game Commission enforce regulations on hunting.
