Recreational boating is extremely popular here. Most types of recreational boats are permitted, and the speed limit tops out at 45 miles per hour.

On the south shore is a two-lane boat launch ramp and parking at Preacher's Camp launching area. Seasonal mooring for canoes is available here also.

On the north side are a public access boat launch, swimming areas, picnicking areas, restrooms, concession stand, first aid station, park office, and interpretive center.

Fishing is another popular option on the water. The lake is full of striped bass, largemouth and smallmouth bass, trout, walleye, perch, and muskellunge.

The lake features a sandy 525-foot beach with lifeguards on duty seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Showers and first aid are available near the beach, and refreshments are sold during the summer season.

Exploring Beltzville State Park

Besides the lake activities, Beltzville State Park boasts 15 miles of hiking trails. Following old roads, wooded paths, and stream banks, hikers can stumble upon gristmills, small ponds, wetlands, and even an abandoned quarry.
