Whisper Lake is a small, private lake in Transylvania County, North Carolina. Part of a private community with the same name in Sapphire Valley, it is just 60 miles from Greenville, South Carolina. As part of the Blue Ridge mountains, it provides clean waters and beautiful views!

Fun on Whisper Lake

Whisper Lake guarantees a peaceful experience while on the water. Since it is exclusive to residents and guests, it promises less traffic. The tranquil waters are terrific for boating, kayaking, or canoeing! 

Anglers love Whisper Lake for its relaxing environment. These waters are home to bluegill, bream, and largemouth bass! The community stocks the lake, and residents are expected to catch and release. Residents are also welcome to swim in Whisper Lake.

Out on the Town

The beautiful scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounds Sapphire Valley. Gorges State Park provides plenty of hiking trails, picnic areas, campgrounds, and wildlife viewing for you to experience. Also near Whisper Lake is Whitewater Falls, the largest waterfall east of the Rockies, plunging 411 feet!

Greenville is the perfect distance away for a fun day in the city! There are plenty of gardens, parks, and museums to explore and discover in Greenville. Popular attractions here include the Greenville Zoo and The Peace Center, an event center with both indoor and outdoor venues.
