Part of the Connestee Falls gated community, Lake Wanteska is in Transylvania County, North Carolina. It is 45 acres and provides residents with private recreational fun. It is notable for its clear waters, which are the clearest of the community’s four lakes. It is only an hour from Asheville, North Carolina.

Fun on Lake Wanteska

Lake Wanteska is a great spot to enjoy kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and electric motorboats. Residents can launch their boats from the lake’s boat ramp or their private docks. A five mph speed limit and no wake restriction allow for calm, peaceful waters while boating. This also makes it an excellent place to fish!

Anglers can enjoy relaxing on still waters while fishing on Lake Wanteska. A variety of fish can be found here, including largemouth bass, catfish, yellow perch, carp, and more! The clean waters provide a nurturing habitat for the fish. The efforts to keep the water clean means that swimming in Lake Wanteska is always pleasant.

Around the Lake

Connestee Falls provides community members with plenty of ways to get out of the house. The area includes hiking trails; tennis, pickleball, and bocce ball courts; swimming pools; and even a dog park! When you get hungry, try out the Connestee Falls Grill, Blue Ridge Lounge, and The Overlook Dining Room.

You can also join the Overlook Clubhouse. Members can enjoy dining, fitness, and socializing at this club. It also features a championship golf course with 18 holes of golf with Blue Ridge Mountain views.

Asheville is also a short drive away for a fun day trip. This city features the beautiful Biltmore Estate, the former mansion of George Vanderbilt! You can also visit the North Carolina Arboretum and Grovewood Village while here. Popular local restaurants include Sunny Point Cafe, Tupelo Honey Southern Chicken & Bar, and Chestnut.
