Jordan Lake is a wooded lake oasis located just south of Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina. U.S Highway 64 crosses the lake, and it is also convenient to I-40 and Highway 1.

The large and beautiful Jordan Lake covers 13,940 acres and has 200 miles of shoreline. Its dam was built in 1963 at the meeting place of the Haw and New Hope Rivers.

Surrounded by tall-standing pines, Jordan Lake is also one of the most significant summertime habitats for bald eagles.

All sorts of water activities happen on Jordan Lake, including pontooning, powerboating, water skiing, tubing, sailing, fishing, and more.

Anglers are attracted to the lake for its populations of largemouth bass, crappie, striped bass, hybrid bass, bream, catfish, and white perch.

Lakeside Establishments

Crosswinds Boating Center offers the only gas pumps on the water. You can also rent boats, kayaks, canoes, or boat slips from the marina.

The Jordan State Recreation Area includes eight recreation sites: Crosswinds, Boat Ramp and Campground, Ebenezer Church, New Hope Overlook, Parkers Creek, Poplar Point, Robeson Creek, Seaforth, and Vista Point.

There are seven swimming beaches between the parks, 14 miles of hiking trails, boat ramps, five campgrounds, and an abundance of wildlife.

The Preserve At Jordan Lake is a well-maintained course that is a delight for golfers of all skill levels.
