About Lake Flower

Located in the Saranac Lake Area

Lake Flower is a picturesque body of water nestled in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. It is conveniently located in Saranac Lake, a recreational area home to restaurants, stores, and hotels. Adirondack Regional Health or Adirondack Regional Airport is within 10 miles of the lake.

Burlington, Vermont is a little over two hours away to enjoy big-city attractions and amenities in another state.

300 Acres of Beauty

Lake Flower is 300 acres in size, with almost all of its shoreline privately owned. Residents have the joys of a recreational lake without all of the extra boat traffic.

The lake was created by a dam on the Saranac River in 1827. A nearby mill began using the lake as a holding station for logs. In 1910, Governor Roswell P. Flower provided the funds to clear the logs and stump them out of the lake, that is why the waters were named Flower Lake.

Lake Fun

Lake Flower is a popular location with kayakers, canoers, and paddle boarders. Motorboats, pontoons, and jet skis also boat the waters.

Located in downtown Saranac Lake, you will have excellent city views, no matter the activity. A lakeside picnic or afternoon of fishing is a great way to unwind.

Paddle to the lake's southern end for a more natural environment featuring white water lilies and other bog-like plants.

The City That Loves Fall

Saranac Lake makes the most of every season, but fall is most favored by locals and visitors alike. Surrounded by crisp air, warm autumn colors, and a welcoming community, you will fall in love with this beautiful area.

Home to six lakes, Saranac Lake offers a significant share of lake activities. Other outdoor activities include hiking to the summit of Baker Mountain, skiing the slopes of Dewey Mountain, or rock climbing at Mckenzie Boulders.

A few of the city's most popular events include the Winter Carnival, Adirondack Snowshoe Fest, Can-Am Rugby Tournament, and Plein Air Festival.
