Chazy Lake

Near the Canadian Border

Chazy Lake is located in Clinton County, New York; it spans over 1,800 acres in size and reaches a depth of 72 feet. Chazy Lake is seated at the base of the Lyon, Johnson, and Ellenburg Mountains.

Chazy Lake rests inside the wild forests of the famous Adirondacks, about 35 minutes away from the Candian border.

Chazy Lake offers many outdoor activities, including fishing, boating, swimming, paddling, kayaking, and canoeing.

Fishing is popular here because of its calmer waters, perfect for trout and salmon. The lake trout, rainbow trout, and landlocked salmon fishing are concentrated in the lake's center over the deepest water. Spoons and crankbaits in silver or silver/blue work the best.

The lake has been stocked with over 7,000 rainbow trout, 1,000 lake trout, and 200 landlocked salmon. There is even an abundant yellow perch population.

Residents and visitors can enjoy the sandy Chazy Lake Beach. The beach is not only great for tanning, but it also has a playground and volleyball court for having some outdoor fun.

Throughout the winter, the New York State Trial System opens more than 10,300 miles of trails for snowmobiling and skiing.
