The lake is famous during all seasons for its panfish and walleye. There are multiple bass tournaments on the lake during the summer, targeting the impressive-sized largemouth and smallmouth bass.

Other species of fish that can be found here are brown trout, chain pickerel, common carp, eastern blacknose dace, longnose dace, creek chub, fallfish, pearl dace, brown bullhead, banded killifish, rock bass, redbreast sunfish, pumpkinseed, black crappie, tessellated darter, yellow perch, walleye, and more.

You won't miss out during the winter months either, and ice fishing is a popular sport amongst locals and lake visitors.

Hike Exeter State Forest

To the west of Canadarago Lake is the 1,957-acre Exeter State Forest. Visitors enjoy camping, snowmobiling, hunting, and wildlife viewing.

Hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, and horseback riding are allowed on the property, but there are no designated trails.

Visit Albany, New York

Albany is best known for its status as the New York State Capital, which makes visiting the state capitol building a must for some people. The building itself is magnificent with 19th-century architecture in a European style.
