Millsite Lake

Location and Access

Located near Chapel Corners, New York, Millsite Lake is approximately 470 acres in size and has about seven miles of shoreline.

There is public access through the DEC beach launch on Cottage Hill Road. In the middle of Millsite Lake are three different islands.

Fishing Opportunities

The fishing opportunities on Millsite Lake are great! Fish species here are northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, lake trout, landlocked salmon, walleye, yellow perch, rock bass, and bluegill. During the winters, ice fishing is also permitted.

Hospital and Airport

The two closest hospitals are River Hospital (approximately a 20-minute drive) and Gouverneur Hospital (a 35-minute drive.)

The Watertown International Airport is located 40 minutes south of the Millsite Lake area.

City of Syracuse

Syracuse is located just an hour and a half south of Millsite Lake.

The Rosamond Gifford Zoo has 700 animals representing 216 different species. It is also in the top 10 percent of zoos in North America awarded accreditation by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums.

Destiny USA is a six-story shopping and entertainment complex on the shore of Onondaga Lake. It is the largest shopping mall in the state.

Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology is set apart by its magnificent planetarium. It is the only domed IMAX theater in the state of New York!
