Lake Pleasant is located in Hamilton County and is under two hours from Saratoga Springs. One side of the lake borders the Village of Lake Pleasant and covers 198 square miles of Adirondack Park.

This lake is surrounded by three significant forests, including West Canada Lake Wilderness, Siamese Ponds Wilderness, and Silver Lake Wilderness.

Lake Pleasant is near Interstate 87, which means you can conveniently access Albany, New York.

Enjoy the Wilderness

Residents and visitors enjoy walks around town, hikes, camping, and water-based activities in and around Lake Pleasant. You can also enjoy the amenities of Sacandaga Lake, which is directly north.

Anglers can find smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, brown trout, brown bullhead, yellow perch, chain pickerel, rock bass, and walleye. Additionally, lake trout, walleye, and brown trout are stocked in the lake.

Enjoy a hike in the 114,010-acre Siamese Ponds Wilderness, which could be in your backdoor. The major attractions include the caves on Chimney Mountain, fishing and camping on Thirteenth Lake, camping at Indian Lake, hiking to Auger Falls, and skiing the East Branch Trail, John Pond Trail, and Botheration Pond Loop Trail. These features are all located on the periphery of the Wilderness.
