Grass Lake is part of the Indian River Lakes, located just 40 miles north of Lake Ontario.

Encompassing Over 300 Acres

This natural lake of 319 acres has an average depth of 24 feet and can be as deep as 50 feet.

Seventeen other lakes are included in the Indian River Lakes Conservancy, dedicated to preserving the natural state of Northern New York.

On the Waters

The DEC Carton Ramp provides public access for boaters. Boats of 10 horsepower and below can boat the waters. Jon boats, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats are all excellent ways to explore the lake.

A variety of fish populates the lake, including largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, tiger muskellunge, northern pike, walleye, yellow perch, bluegill, and brown bullhead.

Fun in Watertown and Lake Ontario

Zoo New York, Dry Hill Ski Area, Veterans Memorial Riverwalk Park, and Ives Hill Country Club are a few of Watertown’s fun attractions.
