Burden Lake

Burden Lake is in Rensselaer County, surrounded by the quaint city of Dunham Hollow. The lake is about 30 minutes from Albany, New York, making it the perfect getaway home for city dwellers or commuters. Burden Lake covers nearly 400 acres with a maximum depth of 37 feet and 8.8 miles of shoreline.

Fishing

Burden Lake is the perfect body of water for passionate anglers looking to spend day after day fishing the waters.

The lake holds an abundant panfish population. Some perch of both species up to 13 inches have been observed. Northern pike and walleye are rare, but when caught are often very large. Excellent bass fishing has been reported.

Chain Pickerel, Golden Shiner, White Sucker, Yellow and Brown Bullhead, Banded Killifish, White Perch, Rock Bass, Redbreast Sunfish, Pumpkinseed, Bluegill, White and Black Crappie, Tessellated Darter, and Yellow Perch are the other species that have been observed in Burden Lake.

Golfing

Burden Lake Country Club is on the southeastern shore of Burden Lake. Play on the 18-hole, par 72 courses and take in the beautiful Albany landscape. This club prides itself on having one of the most pristine golf courses in the Albany area.

Visit Albany, New York

Albany is best known for its status as the New York State Capital, which makes visiting the state capitol building a must for some people. The building itself is magnificent with 19th-century architecture in a European style.
