On the Water Fun

Opechee Bay Reservoir is a mid-size lake stretching across two miles to cover 426 acres.

Lined with tall, healthy trees along the six-mile shoreline, Opechee Bay Reservoir is also surrounded by hills and mountains that make a great backdrop for sunrises and sunsets.

Opechee Bay is a more relaxed body of water with lighter traffic and lower wake risk than Lake Winnipesaukee's neighbor. This makes it a well-loved location for swimming, sailing, windsurfing, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, or kayaking in a worry-free zone.

Bond Beach Park has a 200-foot stretch of sand on Opechee’s clean, clear waters. Lakers can swim, sunbathe, or set out in a kayak or canoe from this area. The park includes picnic facilities, restrooms, changing areas, as well as hiking trails that can be used for cross-country skiing.

The lake is a cold and warm water fishery, having a stock of brook trout, rainbow trout, land-locked salmon, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, chain pickerel, black crappie, and bluegill.
