Halfmoon Lake is in Alton and Barnstead, New Hampshire, under 25 miles from Rochester. For another big-city trip, Concord is under 35 miles away.

Spanning 283 acres and a max depth of 27 feet, Halfmoon Lake has enough room to accommodate all its residents while maintaining the atmosphere of a smaller, private lake.

Popular activities include boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, and taking in the views. While residents can use ski craft during the week, they are prohibited on the weekends. Many homes have docks, but a public access point is on the northwestern side of the water.

Anglers can find smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, eastern chain pickerel, brown bullhead, white perch, black crappie, bluegill, and yellow perch.
