Located in Papillion, Nebraska, Walnut Creek Reservoir is a peaceful body of water in the suburbs of Omaha. It is a short drive from the Shadow Lake Towne Center, CHI Health Midlands, and several schools.

Walnut Creek Lake covers 105 acres and has four miles of shoreline. Its waters can get as deep as 30 feet.

The lake is centered in the Walnut Creek Park & Recreation Area, which covers 450 acres and provides many activities.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission stocks the lake with bass, catfish, bluegill, crappie, and sunfish.

Kayakers and canoers enjoy the calm waters and wandering wildlife. If you're on foot, there is a paved three-mile loop around the lake, along with playgrounds and picnic tables.

Bikers and horseback riders have five miles of grassy trails to explore, and 70% of the park has been left as Nebraska Prairie, which is perfect for birdwatching.
