All the lakes are stocked with bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish for anglers looking to toss a line out close to home.
The De Soto Country Club runs through parts of the community. This privately-owned golf course has 3,335 yards of golf for off-the-water fun.
Mastodon State Historical Park was purchased in 1976 by the state in an attempt to stave off the park’s destruction. Three years later, many different fossils from the Ice Age were found here, including the Mastodon, as indicated by the park’s name. This is a must-see park in Jefferson County.
Crystal City Underground offers kayak tours through the caverns of a submerged 150-acre lake and is an incredibly unique experience.
