Pinnaker Lake is a 38-acre small pool in Burns Township, Minn. Minneapolis is 45 minutes away, and St. Cloud lies only an hour away. Not much is known regarding the lake. Anoka county’s namesake comes from the Dakota word “anokatanhan”, which means “on both sides.” This is in reference to the Rum River which snakes through the county. There are a few smaller airfields nearby, but the closest major airport is Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport and is, typically, reachable within an hour. Urgent care can be provided at Mercy Hospital, 25 minutes away. Snacks and groceries can be found at the local ALDI, 15 minutes away. Locals recommend restaurants such as Northwest Bar & Grill, Chanticlear Pizza, Mcduff’s On the Rum.
